Dr Sowmya Bhaskaran M.D.,(PSY) D.M.,(CAP)

Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

As I was growing up, I found myself being drawn to people and their problems and had an inclination to assist in their issues. This laid the foundation for taking up psychiatry as a career.
During my M.D (Psychiatry) training at Madras Medical College, I discovered my love for working with children and youth with mental health concerns. I was surprised by their resilience and their ability to bounce back from adversity with psychological support. In order to equip myself with specific skills to work with young people, I wrote the competitive national level examination to qualify for superspeciality training at NIMHANS.

I stood first in the exam and went on to pursue a D.M. (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, in 2012. During my training, I have worked with families across South Asia and have been able to help families deal with complex issues in an outpatient and inpatient setting under the expert guidance of stalwarts: Dr. Shoba Srinath, Dr. Shekhar Seshadri, and Dr. Satish Girimaji. I am one of the few D.M.-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists in the country. I have been practicing child and adolescent psychiatry for the past decade and worked in various settings in Coimbatore such as GKNM Hospital, Vazhikatti Mental Health Centre and PSG IMSR. I have finally switched entirely to private practice and I find myself being able to give my best to the child and adolescent clients and their families in this set up. In my practice, I incorporate principles of gentle and gender-neutral parenting, sexuality education, and interactive, collaborative approaches to therapy. At present, I use a narrative lens to work with children and families.

She helps clients develop insight into their inner experiences, by creating a safe, validating therapeutic space. She respects each client’s unique pace to promote healing and foster resilience.

Her therapeutic work is grounded in evidence-based practices, but guided by the belief that healing unfolds differently for everyone.

Ms Nanditha K P M.Sc, M.Phil

Clinical Psychologist

Ms. Nanditha has completed her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru. She views therapy as a safe space where all parts of a person are welcome – those that feel imperfect or confusing, the more vulnerable aspects of the self, and even thoughts one may hesitate to say out loud. She believes people should feel free to share their experiences, emotions, and inner conflicts without fear of being judged or misunderstood. She strongly believes that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work in therapy. Each person brings a unique history, strengths, and challenges, and the therapeutic process is shaped accordingly. She works with children and adults and supports concerns, including neurodevelopmental conditions, personality vulnerabilities, anxiety, life transitions, and general emotional distress.
